Abstract :

Current evidence regarding the link between statin use and mortality risk in people with COVID-19 is outlined. Preclinical studies imply that cholesterol-lowering statins could exacerbate COVID-19 or at least increase the chances of infection. However, in theory, these drugs might also improve the clinical course of the disease by decreasing oxidation, vasoconstriction and inflammation.
