Characteristics and Outcomes of US Children and Adolescents With Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) Compared With Severe Acute COVID-19.

Patients with MIS-C and severe acute COVID-19 were differentiated in terms of clinical presentation and organ involvement. In 539 patients with MIS-C and 577 patients with severe COVID-19, those in the former group were more likely to be 6 to 12 years old and non-Hispanic Black. Aside from having severe cardiovascular or mucocutaneous involvement, these patients tend to have extreme inflammation.
