This is a revised and updated edition of The Fighting Never Stopped: A Comprehensive Guide to World Strife Since 1945 (Vintage Books, 1989), a fairly accurate description of this ultraviolent century. This is a good reference for background information before conducting more in-depth research on a conflict. The text is arranged by large geographic region, and then by countries within the region. Each country's entry begins with brief data on its geography, population, GNP per capita, number of refugees, and casualties from recent conflicts (the last category is new to this edition).
