When people visit my home, they are confronted by families of objects in almost every room. My office displays elephants, my kitchen walls are lined with tins, and my bedroom shelves house perfume bottles and boxes.

People will collect anything. And where there are collectors, there are collectors' clubs, which can be accessed online. Interested in joining one? First, you may want to browse the following directories to see what clubs exist:

* Collector Online (http://www.collectoronline.com)

* Quill Antiques (http://www.quillantiques.com)

* Drexel Grapevine Antiques (http://www.drexelantiques.com)

All of these have listings that are categorized by the collectible. Most clubs offer convention schedules, picture galleries, and details about starting your own collection. The following are some online clubs that may be of interest to you.

Toys

We all love toys. Some of us won't admit it, while others outwardly relive their childhoods by collecting their favorites. My 16-inch Tiffany Taylor doll is my most prized toy, so let's start with dolls.

Dolls--These are some of the most popular collectibles among toy enthusiasts. Remember Chatty Cathy, which was made in the 1960s? The Chatty Cathy Collectors Club at http://www.ttinet.com/chattycathy has a trivia quiz and a sound clip of the original commercial. Another hot item is GI Joe. The GI Joe Collectors' Club at http://www.mastercollector.com/neat/gijoe/club is that doll's official club site. The Toy Soldier Collectors of America at http://www.toysoldiercollectors .homestead.com/tsca.html is also worth checking out.

There is a club for collectors of Cabbage Patch Dolls, the must-have toys of the 1980s, at http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/theabpatch.

A general doll-collectors site, Dolls International Prestige Collectors Club, can be found at http:/www.angelfire.com/f12/dolls.

Do you like to crochet dresses for your dolls? Join the Crochet Collectors Doll Club at http://www.crochetclub.au.com. You can order patterns there.

Finally, there's Barbie. As of this writing, the official collectors' site is not working, but try BCO at http://www.geocities.com/bcosite and the nationwide Barbie Clubs listing at http://www.anothertime.com/TheMall/BARBIE/barbclub.htm.
