Abstract :

The implementation of the Model, Observe, Reflect, Explain (MORE) pedagogy to teach basic chemical principles in health-related contexts as part of an organic and biochemistry course for pre-nursing students is described. The student progress in the context of three laboratories: distillation, synthesis of cyclohexene and pH-dependent aspirin solubility, are discussed.
