Abstract :
Introduction: The practise of physical exercise provides an increase of sweating. The dehydration can compromise your performance during an exercise and increase the risks associated with physical effort and heat. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to calculate the percentage of water loss and the index of sweating of the physical activity practitioners of a Gym in Sao Paulo. Materials and Methods: 17 practitioners, females, aged between 20 and 50, who were attending 40 min Jump and Spinning classes were evaluated. All practitioners were weight on a digital weight, before and after class. They received a questionnaire of hydration with 8 questions. Results: The results show that the middle index of sweating discovered in the Jump class was 6,7 ml/min and 4,4 ml/min in the Spinning class. The most common symptom was the port-exercise exhaustion (47,1%). Discussion: The questionnaire showed that 82,4%, the majority, was drinking water at that time and 52,9% did not show any sign of dry mouth. Conclusion: In the event of longer classes, some of the practitioners could suffer from dehydration, even reaching a severe dehydration. A desidratacao pode comprometer o desempenho durante o exercicio e aumentar os riscos associados ao esforco e ao calor. Objetivo: Este estudo teve por objetivo calcular a perda percentual hidrica e a taxa de sudorese de praticantes de atividade fisica de uma academia de Sao Paulo. Materiais e Metodos: Foram avaliadas 17 praticantes todas do sexo feminino com idade entre 20 e 50 anos, frequentadoras das aulas de Jump e Spinning, com 40 minutos de duracao. As praticantes foram pesadas em uma balanca digital, antes e apos a aula. Foi entregue um questionario de hidratacao com 8 questoes. Resultados: Os resultados mostram que, em relacao a taxa de sudorese a media encontrada na aula de Jump foi de 6,7 mL/min e na aula de Spinning 4,4 mL/min. O sintoma mais citado foi a fadiga pos-exercicio (47,1%). Discussao: Atraves do questionario aplicado foi notado que a maioria 82,4% beberia agua naquele momento e 52,9% nao apresentaram sensacao de boca seca. Conclusao: Caso as aulas fossem prolongadas, algumas das praticantes poderiam entrar em estado de desidratacao, podendo chegar a uma desidratacao grave.
