Abstract :

The linearization of a nonlinear system can be accomplished by connecting a nonlinear Volterra prefilter in series with the nonlinear system and by adaptively adjusting the coefficients of the prefilter. A nonlinear filtered-x least mean squares (LMS) algorithm for updating the coefficients of a nonlinear prefilter was found to be an extension of the popular filtered-x LMS algorith.
