Abstract :

The District of Columbia's Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) runs in a two-vendor computer environment, not counting the inevitable melange of stand-alone word processors and personal computers. A Digital Equipment Corp VAX 8200 and a Wang VS 300 run side by side in the departmental computer room. Distributed in the user community are three Wang VS 65s and two DEC Micro FAX IIs. DCRA's network integration project is far from over. DCRA looks to a future when the Wang Multiline TC Processor is certified for VT100 emulation, when Wang introduces Ethernet and when the stand-alone PCs are connected to the Departmental network.
