Abstract :

The bifunctional catalyst exhibits exceptional selectivity in the ring-opening polymerization of lactide for the synthesis of well-defined poly(lactide)s of narrow polydispersity. The high selectivity for polymerization relative to transesterification provides exciting opportunities for the synthesis of well-defined polyactide architectures with end-group fidelity.
