Abstract :

Hemodynamic factors cause fluctuations in microvascular blood flow parameters obtained with constant flow boundary conditions. Hemorheological mechanisms cause the temporal variations in flow parameters and these are superimposed on variations caused by other mechanisms. The frequencies of the fluctuations in blood velocity agree qualitatively with variations in dual-slit velocity in the arterioles of the cremaster muscle of anesthetized Golden hamster.
