Abstract :

The adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) interaction site in DNA polymerase [beta] (Pol-[beta]) shows that Thr79, Lys81, and Arg83 of Pol-[beta] are crucial for its interaction with APC. APC has blocked both Pol-[beta]-directed single-nucleotide (SN)- and long-patch (LP)-base excision repair (BER) pathways and increased sensitivity of cells to alkylation induced DNA damage.
