Abstract :

Analysis of the effects of set-up costs reduction, in both its stationary and non-stationary state, results in several findings. First, a rise in the reduction amount tends to lead to declining aggregate cost but it has no effect on total holding costs as well as inventory levels. Such findings are important in the literature on zero-level inventory, of which set-up costs play an important role.
