Human Trafficking
Overview
Human trafficking, also referred to as trafficking in persons or modern slavery, is a crime in which a person or group of people exploits and controls another person, often for financial benefit. Though human trafficking is commonly associated with the illegal transport of people across national borders, it can occur within a single country and does not require the crossing of a border.
