James K. Polk

James K. Polk was the eleventh president of the United States. He served from 1845 to 1849.

Polk was born on his family's 250‐acre farm in North Carolina. He was the oldest of 10 children. The family moved to Tennessee in 1806. Polk was often sick as a child.
