Temple Grandin is an American scientist and industrial designer who has helped change the field of animal science. Grandin is autistic, and her story has helped inform the American public about autism since the 1980s.
Temple Grandin was born on August 29, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts. Her parents were Eustacia Cutler and Richard Grandin. As a baby, Grandin stiffened when her parents held her. As she grew older, she fought being held, did not speak, and had difficulty expressing her feelings. Her frustration caused her to go into rages.
