Overview
The issue of LGBTQ+ community equality encompasses both civil rights and human rights for members of the LGBTQ+ communities. The LGBTQ+ community includes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people and others with a broad range of sexual orientations and gender identities. In the United States, LGBTQ+ equality advocates have focused mainly on constitutional protection of civil rights, such as same-sex marriage, parental rights, and workplace discrimination.
