Princess Diana
Overview
Princess Diana was a member of the British royal family and the wife, and then ex-wife, of Charles, Prince of Wales (1948–), who was heir apparent to the British throne during their marriage. (Charles would later become King Charles III in 2022.) Diana, who gave up her royal title when she and Charles officially divorced in 1996, was well known for her charitable contributions and activities. She died in a car crash in 1997.
